Do the Best you can with what you've got!

2012: My motto is to do all that I can with what I've got! So I've opened an Etsy shop, www.etsy.com/shop/patgullett, for some smaller items. I've also enabeled this website with Paypal, to make it truly a working, selling site. Also, prints of my mixed media paintings are added, for all my people who remember the originals back at the Chicago summer Art Fairs. I'm glad to be moving forward into the cyber world, expanding my horizons, and learning so many new enriching techniques for life. Life is good!

Wabi Sabi Saturdays

What is it about Wabi Sabi that hits me so deeply?! It's living with the land, knowing all is well in all of creation, nothing needs to be fixed, and accepting all is perfectly imperfect! Priceless!!!! Classes in the ancient Japanese way of life begin in Oct.

Creative Life Workshops

Something clicked last summer. I felt the need to move on, branch out, combine all that I have experienced and create a new way of life. By bringing together all that I believe, with my interdisciplinary art background, a new program started to form. Twelve concepts became the focus, various experiences with mixed media became the Projects, and a writing formula became the story about the piece.

Brookfield Craft Center to Reopen!

Brookfield will be hosting a grand reopening Open House with demos, tours, and goodies, on 10-10-10.

I'm planning new PMC classes for all my past students. On Oct. 23,24, we will cover all aspects of adding color to PMC, including Keum-boo, the Korean gold foil burnishing technique. Start on Thurs, Oct. 21, we will meet for 4 Thurs, from 9:30 to 1:30, to cover Connections...putting it all together. We'll cover closures, wirewrapping, and making PMC Links. Join us for a fun time.

Trunk Shows

Very interesting to note that some top designers are choosing to do Trunk Shows at galleries that sell their work, INSTEAD of some of the big wholesale shows. It's advertised as "Rare Personal Appearances" of a particular jeweler, to show their new work. Everyone is adapting and shifting.
